神様、私にお与えください、
自分に変えられないものを受け入れる落ち着きを、
変えられるものは変えていく勇気を、
そして、二つを見分ける賢さを。
今日一日を生き、
この今を楽しみ、
苦難を平和に通じる道と受け入れながら、
この罪深い世の中を、あのお方がなされたように、
自分の意思を捨て、あるがままに受け入れながら、
この世ではほどほどに幸福を得て、
天国ではあのお方と共に永遠に至上の幸福を得る
という、神の意思にすべてを委ねるなら、
神様は、何事もよくしてくださると信じて。

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
